Oslo: A Dog’s Story
When we think of animals, most of us probably imagine them as our furry friends, but animals are spiritual beings, too.
Animals feel and experience joy, love, sadness, anger, pain, and other emotions just like us. They are capable of empathy and compassion which is one reason they are such great companions.
And their role in our lives goes beyond keeping us company — they can help us learn about ourselves as well.
Animals are spiritual beings
Dogs are social creatures with whom we often form close bonds. Sometimes we feel like our dog is the only being who truly loves and accepts us unconditionally.
They are intuitive so if you're feeling anxious about something, they can sense it and will try to offer comfort in the best way they know how — being physically close, asking for belly rubs, or licking.
Losing Oslo
Our beloved dog, Oslo, passed unexpectedly last week.
If you’ve had your own pet before, you know the love for and from an animal is inexplicable.
Anyone who's been around animals knows they have their own unique personalities and special character – that's a given.
And you'd think, as someone who communicates with souls for a living (even with animals), I would remember they are soul, first and foremost.
You hear me say all the time – we are soul, spirit, essence, energy – whatever you want to call our life force, and we just happen to inhabit our current body for this particular lifetime.
But, as I shared in the video I created in our APC, I was shocked to see Oslo's soul pop out of his body just before it died!
Now this is super nuanced so bear with me here…
I realized animals also aren't bodies that have a soul. They are soul, spirit, essence, energy – whatever you want to call their life force, and they just happen to inhabit their body for this particular lifetime.
Oslo's physical form no longer exists and we deeply crave his cuddles, smelly breath, and nuzzles.
We still listen for the jingle of his tags as he trots to the kitchen for a treat. We automatically glance over to his preferred places to lounge, expecting him (aka his body) to be relaxing there. A pain grips our heart; tears spring to our eyes.
And yet, we also know his soul, spirit, essence, energy continues to exist. Both And…
I share even more lessons we learned during our experience of Oslo's passing in the Ascended Presence Circle. The APC is our trusted, private, online community of inspiring people who care about leading intuitive and intentional lives.
